The Weekend!

Woo Hoo! It's Friday (at last!). Mind you having said that, if you're as old as me, time seems to have gained momentum somewhat since I passed the age of 30! I remember when I was at school, the summer holidays seemed to go on for a very long time, now a year has passed and well, I just wasn't ready for it! Which reminds me of a great Pink Floyd track (Time), no-one told me when to run .. I missed the starting gun .. bugger! Anyway Friday is no time for misery and depression, it's the weekend! I have one of only two gigs left this year with Hang Loose
at The Old White Horse in Baldock on Saturday. Lets hope it's a good'n'! If you were wondering what the picture at left is about, it's how to create a new universe. So, now you know, off you trot and go and see if you can make a few before tea time.
I have tried quite hard to understand some of this quantum theoretical stuff and sometimes, you think, ah, right, yes, I understand that bit and then in the next paragraph, you think, what am I reading? Quantum entanglement? Hawkin radiation? Uncertainty principal? Uncertain? I haven't got a bloody clue! Look guys, if it's over there, it's not here is it?!
And what do you mean "if I do this to that, it also does the same thing to that over there"? Quantum computers that give you both answers?? I only wanted the one answer and the right one please! Can you imagine for a minute, with the problems we all get from computers now with various bits of stray code causing the "Blue Screen of Death" in most Windows environments, if they then start mucking about with things that are the fundemental building blocks of the universe, what a bit of stray coding might do? A passing piece of quntum fluff could bring down the whole system and maybe the universe!!! Well, ok, I think you knew that was a little over the top, hmm, maybe it wasn't, who knows? Who knows what is possible? If you can have an incredibly stupid, inarticulate bumbling fool in charge of one of the most powerful nations on the planet, what hope is there for making sense out of anything. So, just go and enjoy yourself massively, because that's all there is .. your world is what you make of it. So make it good!

Useful Gadgets

Now, don't you just wish that existed? No more of that horrible tasting carbon residue you call toast, just perfectly formed and toasted bread!
There are a miriad of concept designs that you wish DARPA or NASA would just give a little bit of their time and resources to developing. Making something helpful rather than explosive! In case you weren't aware of what and who DARPA is/are, this should help ..

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is the central research and development organization for the Department of Defense (DoD). It manages and directs selected basic and applied research and development projects for DoD, and pursues research and technology where risk and payoff are both very high and where success may provide dramatic advances for traditional military roles and missions.

There now, that's cleared it all up eh?
Another dodgy American black project group mainly involved in finding really interesting and creative ways to kill people that don't agree with them!

I want a transparent toaster!!

Upside Down World

Hiya. Just a couple of things. Child punishment and Victim/Criminal Support.
I have heard today that the Thought Police and General Busybody Department have been out again poking their pathetic and unimaginably stupid little noses into things about which they know nothing again. Well, there's a shock eh? It's not like them to tell us what to do with our lives now is it? Apparently, they've thrown another toy out of their pram regarding the "naughty step" idea than Supernanny uses to help give children an idea of what is and is not acceptable behavior. It doesn't matter that you don't know of this person or her methods, what matters here is that if children are not given a clear idea of what is and is not acceptable behavior then the writing is on the wall regarding their future integration into a civilised society. You see in my very humble opinion (which, agreed, is worth not so much as a passing shit fly!) you do need to teach kids right and wrong and punishment is all part of that process. Now, before you start, I am in no way whatsoever suggesting digging out the "old faithful" baseball bat (although for some kids these days ... ) but what I am saying is that the odd smack, now and then, should be used when all else fails to help them understand a) they have done/are doing something wrong b) the world is filled with all sorts of things, including pain c) If you do that again I will disembowel you. Alright, the last one is a little excessive but you get my drift. Because kids have no way of defining their boundaries without pushing them untill it hurts, if they aren't given a little bit of discipline then you get anti-social/criminal behavior without any understanding that it is wrong or indeed why it is wrong and that's the most important bit, understanding why things are wrong. It's no good just smacking your kids when they do things you don't like, this is very unhelpful. All kids will do things their parents/guardians don't like and that is not a good reason for a smack. A smack should be applied at the point their behavior is dangerous to either themselves or someone else or it is upsetting to someone else. This now brings me on to Criminal/Victim support. Why, in a world where every right thinking sane individual can see what is wrong with the amount of support, help and understanding (bless them) that criminals get is so ridiculously out of balance to the support, help and understanding that a victim of these little b*st*rds get? So, why do governments and (once again) these think tank/quango/pc/commitee/pressure group asr*holes not see that they are a bunch of no-good namby pamby twats with no foot in the real world whatsoever? Are they all really that stupid that they think something is a good idea just because they thought of it? Do they not think anything through at all? Start looking after the good people in this world or we are doomed to civil unrest and crime until the human race is extinct (and for the sake of the world, that wouldn't be a bad thing!).
It is still a wonderful world out there and there are an awful lot of extremely good people, lets not let the idiots ruin the party!

Still Here!

Hello again! Sorry been busy and tired again in equal measures! The girl on the left here is the lovely Gail Porter. Although that would be hard to tell from this angle unless you know the photoshoot it came from. What a very attractive girl she is and I do hope something nice happens to her fairly soon. I don't know if you saw the documentary on hair loss (alopeacia - not sure of the spelling but that will have to do!). I was nearly in tears myself during the program! What a cruel twist of fate. Not only loosing your lover ('cause he's a twat!) but loosing all your hair as well! As everyone knows, looks are everything in the entertainment industry. Still, she appears to have work to some degree with that mad American "sensitive" medium type blokey on "Dead Famous". Anyway, I'll be back very soon with some more babblings of a not too serious nature but for now, that's all folks! Happy Sunday!

Well I Never!

Just saw this little item on a gadget blog site and although one can marvel at its technological achievement, one has to wonder, what on earth they were thinking when they named it (her?). You can see all the little pervy blokes in the world pricking (?) up their ears at something that looks like a girl, will do whatever you tell it and is called "Hello Kitty"! Maybe it's just my own sick mind at work here and no-one else has seen this in that way (until now!) but I very much doubt it. Still, what the hell, it's still really impressive, if a little spooky! I do find that animated humanoid figures (male or female) are quite spooky. Don't get me wrong, I love robots and associated gadgetry but I don't know if I would be able to be in the same room as one without feeling a bit scared. I think I have watched too many Sci-Fi movies and read too many Isaac Asimov books for my own good! Roll out the T3!

Fume Fume Rant Rant!!

What is going on here eh?? Why is it that we as the Great British Public have to make allowances and not say things that may (or may not) be considered offernsive or wear anything that may be considered offensive to some minority pressure groups and religous factions (in a lot of cases some idiotic quango style expert group from our own fair land). Especially when we have to make allowances for their customs and religous ways so as not to upset them.
Look, here's the deal - Live here and live by our laws and customs or F*ck Off!!
If I went and lived in another country (pick any you like), I wouldn't dream of starting to tell them how I am going to interpret their laws and change the ones I don't like! If I lived in Spain and enjoyed their hospitality (and weather), I wouldn't start telling them they can't fight bulls because it offends me (which it does!). You either join in or don't go! (that includes being able to speak the language!). Surely the people that come to live in this country are aware of how we live and our customs and traditions? If not, then why the f*ck come here? It's because we are easy pickin's that's why. "Give us all your money and we'll give you a really hard time about how you put us down and suppress our freedom etc etc" .. Why-o-why are we so afraid to be British? You don't see the Germans of the French apologising all the while about being who they are, so why on earth do we? Someone needs to get hold of these people that are squeezing us into loosing our identity, traditions and our religon through the art of "Political Correctness", put them all in a field somewhere and shoot the lot! I'll do it!
This is not some xenophobic rant about "foreigners", this is about us being allowed to be British and proud, because whatever may have gone on in the past, we are a very tolerant and helpful buch of people and we don't need government legislation or pressure groups to make us so! If you live somewhere (other than your place of birth) then at least have the decency to take part in that country and not try and set up your own within it!
There, done now!

Monday Again!!

Hiya.
Well, we had two very enjoyable gigs at the weekend. One with "Hang Loose" and the other with"Giraffes of Prague". They could have been better on my part though, as someone had stitched wooly mittens onto my hands on both occasions but overall, they were both good. I think the audience enjoyed them, they seemed to, so, I'm taking it that they did! hang Loose played at Offley Club for someone's birthday and all were mightilly p*ssed by the end of the night so, if they didn't enjoy it we can tell them they did and no-one will know (he he!). The Giraffes gig was a good one, although it was exceedingly loud by the end of the night (my ears are still singing their own tune!).
The audience were appreciative and most stayed to the end! Both nights were a bit on the late side so, Monday is a little fuzzy, which in turn makes for an extra poo Tuesday but I won't go on about Tuesdays again. Just be aware that they are there, waiting, in the shadows, with sharp implements! Anyway, enough of this and more of this, that and the other. Happy Monday to all who happen upon this (and to those who don't) and a pox on all the mean people in the world.
